The Andharban trek is a unique hiking experience nestled in the Sahyadri range of Maharashtra, India. The word "Andharban" translates to "Dark Forest" in Marathi, which is an apt name for this trail. Unlike most treks that lead upward toward a summit, Andharban is largely a descending trail, winding through dense tropical forest, misty valleys, and numerous water streams, especially during and just after the monsoon season.

This trail typically begins at an altitude near Pimpri Dam, close to Tamhini Ghat, and descends gradually toward the Bhira dam area. One of the most captivating aspects of this trek is the sheer lushness of the forest. The canopy overhead can become so thick that even daylight seems dim in certain parts, creating an almost surreal atmosphere of twilight in the middle of the day.
